Our February reading

We are actually in the month so hope you are reading – or thinking about reading – books that feature love and/or romance (they aren’t always the same) and planning to join us on February 16 at 10:30 to share.

I really enjoyed Love, Life and Elephants (described below) – a slightly different choice for me – and am moving on to The Fault in Our Stars by John Green which has been recommended by two people whose judgment I trust – Jan Rosenberg and my granddaughter.

    I’ll third that recommendation!

  2. had a book from the library I needed to read so it could be returned and it turned out to be a perfect choice for February. It is about what we do for love and what it does to us. The Light Between Oceans by M. L. Stedman – really liked it.

  3. Read The Fault in Our Stars by John Green and thought it was great. Warning however – don’t read the end of this book in a public place.

  4. One of the book groups I participate in is reading My Name is Mary Sutter by Robin Oliveira. It is described as the story of a woman in the mid 1800′s who wants to be a doctor at a time when that is an impossibility for women. It is certainly that and a vivid description of the conditions of the Civil War and the state of medicine at that time but it is also a love story – looking at love in its many forms and the misery it can create.
