Looking for something to share this morning I googled “most beautiful gardens in the world” and it turns out that there is a book by that name – apparently full of photos of the most beautiful gardens in the world. Who knew?

What a wonderful looking book!
It is indeed a beautiful book. Randall Library has a copy, so you can order it through Minuteman.
I’m delighted to report that I’ll be visiting the Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens over Memorial Day with my mother and sisters. And I’ll put in a plug for Asticou Garden in Northeast Harbor as especially lovely during azalea and rhody season.
I would vote for Longwood Garden in Delaware as one of the most beautiful gardens anywhere.
Finally had a chance to look at the book – and it is lovely. What I found interesting, however, is that almost all the gardens focus on structure, hardscape, hedges trimmed into interesting shapes – one of the only ones that was focused on flowers is the Keukenhof in Holland – which I have seen and it is truly magnificent.
